Rooted in classical Pilates principles, and following along the lines of Joseph Pilates’ studio in New York, you will be working with two or three other people in the studio at the same time.
These small group classes are 45 minutes long and held in the studio. We work on your breath, strength, control and alignment – all of which will develop body awareness.

After a whole class warm up, you will work your way round the various pieces of traditional apparatus completing a different set of exercises on each. Kate is there to guide you and offer alternative levels as appropriate. Each class will be planned to take your body through all the planes of movement in a supportive environment.
In between the different piece of apparatus you may be given stretches or even an interval of barre. You will finish with a short cool down and leave class feeling amazing.
What is the difference between Small Group Class and Circuit Class?
Whilst the Small Group Classes will be closely guided by Kate, the Circuit Class has an expectation/degree of self-guidance. You will be given set exercises to complete at each ‘station’ within the 45 minutes, and Kate will be there to offer support when needed. Each week a new exercise will be introduced to increase your knowledge of the Pilates Method.
These small group classes and circuit sessions are a fantastic (and more economical) way to develop your Pilates practice on the large apparatus.
Which class should I come to?
**Novice class: If you are a complete novice to the Pilates apparatus, please come along and learn right from the very beginning. There’s no better place to start!
** Intermediate class: you are required to have at least 6 x 1:1 sessions or have attended several ‘novice’ sets of Small Group Apparatus classes so you are familiar with each piece.
** Circuit class: you are required to have a basic knowledge of each piece of apparatus. Ideally you will have attended small group classes and 1:1s and you will be confident to work on your own.
Cost: £20 per class. (Booking in advance required)
